Discover cold brew preparation and optimal brewing process.

What Is Cold Brew?

Cold brew is a brewing method produced by allowing coffee to remain in contact with cold water for an extended period. It is characterized by low acidity, smooth drinking, and balanced body.

Core Brewing Logic

In cold brew, extraction takes place at low temperature over a long period. The result is determined by three main variables:

  • Dose / Ratio: Determines intensity
  • Grind: Controls extraction speed
  • Time: Determines flavor intensity and body

Reference Brewing Range

  • Ratio: 1:8 – 1:12
  • Time: 12–18 hours
  • Grind: Medium–coarse
  • Water: Cold or room temperature

These values are starting points; ratio and time can be adjusted for stronger or lighter results.

Brewing Flow

  • Coffee and water are mixed evenly.
  • It is left to rest in a closed container under stable conditions.
  • No stirring is required during brewing.
  • At the end of the brew time, the grounds are separated by filtration.
  • It can be diluted before serving if preferred.

Quick Adjustment

  • Weak / watery: Increase the dose or extend the time
  • Too strong: Dilute or shorten the time
  • Cloudy cup: Grind coarser and improve filtration

Operational Notes

  • Because of the long contact time, the grind should be kept coarse.
  • Filtration quality directly affects cup clarity.
  • The prepared product should be stored in a cold environment.
  • The serving ratio can be adjusted before service for concentrate use.
